Sailing For Scholars

I'm proud to announce that I'm a new supporter of Sailing for Scholars.

Sailing for Scholars benefits Hudson River Community Sailing (HRCS), a youth development and community sailing organization based in NYC. Sail Academy is a sports-based youth development program that serves 250 students from public middle and high schools. Sail Academy aims to close the opportunity gap between students from under-resourced schools and their more affluent counterparts by providing STEM and leadership education, college access, internships, and workforce preparation. Over 90% of HRCS graduates have gone on to 4-year colleges. Community Sailing provides maritime access and education to the NYC community at large. Adaptive Sailing  provides waterfront access, sailing education, and community-building to New Yorkers living with disabilities.

I learned about this wonderful program because I decided that I wanted to learn to sail. After looking around the NYC area for a good sailing school, I found one in Hudson River Community Sailing. But not only did I find a sailing school, I found a community of members who care passionately about opportunities for youth in New York City. Take a look and see if you too would like to support this sailing program in our beautiful city of New York. I'll be at the Gala and would love to see friends, patients and supporters there!
